Now that 2025 is beginning, I’ve taken some time to reflect on what 2024 has looked like at Fox Therapy.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE COOL THINGS I’VE BEEN UP TO IN 2024.
In 2024 I celebrated four years of Fox Therapy running solely online. I love being able to see LGBTQ+ clients from all over the UK (and sometimes further afield!) and knowing that they can see me from wherever is most comfortable for them. I’ve spent some time making sure my home office is a comfy space for everyone, too, with new artwork and soft furnishings that I hope create a warm background for my clients.

My therapeutic training this year has focused on minoritised people and how our experiences of oppression can show up in therapy and in our daily lives. I was lucky enough to complete trainings and supervisions by luminaries like Sabah Choudry and Dr. Jennifer Mulan on topics such as decolonising therapy practices, experiences of women with ADHD, creating neuroaffirmative therapy practices, working with trans clients of colour, and ERP for clients with OCD and anxiety.
I also read a number of excellent therapy books about disability, community care, self-care, neurodivergence, and body liberation, my favourite of which was Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justice by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarashina.
As well as reading some great books this year, I also finished writing my second non-fiction book as my alter-ego Katy Lees in 2024. It’s called Queer Minds: LGBTQ+ Therapists and Advocates on Mental Health, Neurodivergence and the Things That Help and I’m excited for it to come out later in 2025.

Fox Therapy has also been proud to support organisations such as Medical Aid for Palestinians, Micro Rainbow, and Stonewall Housing. Working towards an end to oppression, inequality, and colonialism inside and outside the therapy room is an important part of my therapy work and I’m proud to continue that work however I can.

And, of course, Fox Therapy’s perennial Employee of the Year has won this prestigious award again, for showing resilience and a brave joy in the face of adversity (mainly having to put up with her younger feline coworkers, Dax and Wrex).

Here’s hoping for a smooth, joyful, and strengthening 2025 ahead for everyone!
